Installation

Product installation & technical support by professionals

WARNING: Please ensure installation is carried out by a professional electrician or AV installer. Warranty may become void if failure to do so.

Pre-Installation:

  • Make sure that all accessories in contents listing are present - See user guide booklet page 9.
  • We recommend setup the TV before installing to test all required functions are working properly.
  • The wall chosen for install is level. Bathroom TVs use magnets to attach the TV to the back-mounting plate. It is therefore essential the wall is flat.
  • Decide on the height of your TV. We recommend as close to eye level as possible to ensure maximum visibility.
  • Avoid locations in direct sunlight, as this may cause screen glare.
  • ProofVision Bathroom TVs must be recessed into the wall and must be sealed to the surrounding wall using a bathroom silicone sealant.
  • While Wi-Fi is available, the receivers are at the back of the TV and will be inside the wall. To maximize connectivity and prevent streaming issues, we highly recommend either a wired internet connection or installing a Wi-Fi booster nearby.

First Fix Installation (Power & back mounting box):

  1. Mark out the location you will install the TV, ensuring sufficient space to locate the backbox. All edges of the cutout should be at least 20mm clear of any obstruction to allow for the glass front to sit on top of the tiles.
  2. Locate the nearest power supply (such as a loft space or adjacent room) and choose an accessible location for the transformer.
  3. Chase cabling from the backbox to the transformer - the provided cable length combined is 1.8m. This can be extended - we recommend sourcing a longer 240v mains kettle lead to ensure adequate power gets to the TV, low-voltage DC extenders can result on voltage drop.
  4. Create the recess for the back-mounting plate using the dimensions on page 1 for your size of TV
  5. Insert the TV's mounting plate to the cutout. We recommend that the edge of the back-box is aligned with the edge of the tile, which will result in the TVs glass front sitting neatly proud of the tiles.
  6. Secure the plate with the screws provided.
  7. Bring through the cables from the bottom of the mounting plate.

Installing the TV

  1. Unscrew and remove the inputs cover on the back of the TV.
  2. Insert all cables into ports and rest wires on the foam at the bottom.
  3. Once all cables are in place, re-attach the inputs cover and  re-insert screws to secure in place.
  4. To mount the TV into the mounting plate, bring the TV up to the hole and start to slowly push screen into its housing. Take care not to snag or pull against any cables during the install, and remember the front is glass. Please take care and do not slam the TV as excess force may cause damage to the front glass screen.
  5. Turn on the screen using the power button on the remote. We recommend testing all functionality, including Wi-Fi, before continuing to the next step.

Sealing the TV

  1. Once you are happy that the bathroom TV is in place and working, a silicon-based sealant will need to be applied to complete the installation. This is to prevent water entry to the back of the unit.
  2. Apply the sealant around all 4 edges of the TV.
  3. You can use a silicone profile tool to neaten how the silicone looks while keeping the seal in place

IMPORTANT: Sealing the TV is an important instruction to prevent water ingress to the back of the TV. Failure to seal the TV against the wall may cause faults/damage which will not be covered under warranty.

PLEASE NOTE: Faults/Damage caused by failure to apply sealant as advised may not be covered under warranty.
